Jaguar is on a mission to transform into a much more exclusive brand, offering a trio of ultra-luxury electric vehicles.

The first is due in 2025, with a preview coming in the form of the Jaguar Design Vision Concept, set to debut later today at an event coinciding with the 2024 Miami Art Week. However, photos of the concept have already surfaced online via the CocheSpias Instagram page.

The leaked photos show a concept whose design is likely to evolve significantly before reaching production. Jaguar has already shown a heavily camouflaged prototype, and its styling—based on what is visible—appears less dramatic than the concept.

The concept is a large fastback coupe with a pair of doors thought to be rearward-opening. The greenhouse features a jet fighter-style canopy design, popularized by the Nissan GT-R, while the rear includes an element resembling a multi-slatted grille with open vents. This contrasts with a similar grille-like element at the front, which is completely sealed.

Jaguar’s new simplified logos are featured at the front and rear, as well as on the front fenders. The fender logo is believed to sit on a cover for a camera system that deploys when in use. The absence of a rear window suggests the rearview mirror will likely rely on a camera system as well.

The interior design follows the same minimalist theme as the exterior. Taking full advantage of an EV’s architecture, the center console, rather than sitting on the floor, appears to float between the seats. The driver is greeted by an oval-shaped steering wheel, and there is a noticeable lack of digital screens, perhaps suggesting that relevant information will be projected onto the windshield.

Under Jaguar’s transformation plan, first announced in 2021, the automaker will launch three electric vehicles this decade. The first, set to be revealed next year with deliveries starting in 2026, will be a four-door grand tourer largely inspired by this concept. A large SUV and a sedan are expected to follow shortly thereafter.

The transformation plan is a bold move for Jaguar, which has already begun phasing out its current lineup in some markets, including its home market in the U.K. In these areas, dealerships—often shared with Land Rover—are focusing on clearing out existing stock ahead of the new electric arrivals.

The new generation of Jaguars will be priced significantly higher than models from recent years and will be built on a dedicated EV platform called JEA (Jaguar Electrified Architecture). Jaguar has stressed that having a distinct platform is critical for differentiating its EVs from those of other brands under parent company JLR.

Jaguar has suggested the grand tourer will have a starting price of around 100,000 British pounds (approximately $163,000). The automaker has also promised more power than any previous Jaguar road car and a range of 430 miles based on the WLTP test cycle used overseas. When measured under the stricter EPA cycle in the U.S., the range is expected to exceed 300 miles.
